Tyler MQG Holiday Party

Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 6 p.m.

Tricia Harvey's home

Bring a sewing related wrapped gift worth $25
and
a homemade Pincushion.

This is completely optional of course. Only participate if you'd like to.  The pincushion needs to be made by YOU. \
You can make any kind of pincushion you want - something super duper fast and easy out of scraps, or an intricate one. Or somewhere in between.
Bring your pincushion wrapped so we can't see them ahead of time. We will just put them on a table and then everyone who brought one, will be able to pick one from the table. Then we unwrap and see our pincushion surprise!

See you there.

Charity

Holiday season is the time of giving and I wanted to share some of the giving the Tyler MQG has done this year.

Quilts for Pulse - Organized by the Orlando MQG to collect quilts and blocks for the victims of the shooting at Pulse nightclub on June 12, 2016 - Our Guild donated 5 Quilts

Quilts for Peace - Organized by the Dallas MQG - Donations of blue and white blocks for the fallen and injured officers that were killed during a protest in Dallas, TX - Our guild donated several blocks including many that were signed by officers.  We received a lovely thank you note from the DMQG.

And of course, our favorite Charity -  Covered In Love

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the blocks donated but above is a link and our Guild has provided many blocks and quilts.

Volunteering at local quilt show in March

Hello TMQG!
I'm still looking for volunteers to help at our local quilt show. Our group volunteered to help with the take down and folding area of the show. It should take about an hour or so on Saturday, March the 19th. We will start at 5pm and finish around 6-6:30 ish.
There will be other volunteers helping but we need at least 10 people from our group to volunteer.

So far I have:
Tana Doss
Karen Walters,
Melanie Dossey
Tricia Harvey
June Nyvall
Robyn Lieberman
Susan Gutierrez

Thanks so much to those who have already volunteered!!!
Please contact me if you would be able to help also. You DO NOT have to be a member of the Quilters Guild of East Texas (QGETX) to help.
Lets show our support of QGETX by helping with this job!
Please respond by Saturday as I really need to get the list back to the lady in charge of this area.
Thanks!
Tricia
